Limited Engine Warranty

The Remanufacturer issues this non-transferable Limited Engine Warranty to you, the original purchaser of the remanufactured engine and owner of the vehicle in which the engine is installed. The remanufacturer warrants the remanufactured engine, which you have just purchased and is described in this warranty, to be free from defects in material or workmanship if properly installed, used in a normal manner and properly serviced and maintained during the specified warranty periods described below. If the remanufactured engine fails as a result of a defect in material or workmanship during the specified warranty period (measured from the date of purchase) the Remanufacturer will:

 

1.                                   For Passenger Cars and Light Trucks (under 1 ton)

on a long block, 36 months unlimited miles, on a short block, six (6) months unlimited miles

repair, replace or refund, at the option of the Remanufacturer, the allegedly defective engine or part; and reimburse reasonable labor cost of repair or replace the engine not to exceed $450.00.

 

2.                                   For Fleet applications (includes only specific part number designated for Fleet) on a long block, 36 months unlimited miles repair, replace or refund, at the option of the Remanufacturer, the allegedly defective engine or part; and reimburse reasonable labor costs to repair or replace the engine not to exceed $450.00.

 

3.                                   For Commercial Application and 1 ton and over on long block, 12 months unlimited miles

      repair, replace or refund, at the option of the Remanufacturer, the allegedly defective

      engine or part: and reimburse reasonable labor costs to repair or replace the engine not

      to exceed $450.00.

 

4.                                   For Xtreme Engines

                                      36 months unlimited miles repair, replace or refund, at the option of the Remanufacturer, the allegedly defective engine or part: and reimburse reasonable labor costs to repair or replace the engine not to exceed $450.00

 

5.                                   For Motorhome applications (includes only specific part number designated for Motorhomes)

*                                                                on a long block, 12 months unlimited miles repair, replace or refund, at the option of the Remanufacturer, the allegedly defective engine or part; and reimburse reasonable labor cost to repair or replace the engine not to exceed $450.00

 

6.                                   For Industrial and Off- Highway use on long block, 60 days repair, replace or refund, at the option of the Remanufacturer, the allegedly defective engine or part all labor cost are excluded

 

Labor Payments:

In order to qualify for the above labor reimbursement, the replacement engine must be installed professionally by a garage or service center. Recon hourly rates for all authorized labor claims will be paid in accordance with the “All Data Labor Time Guide” at the established labor rate exceed $42.00 per hour, maximum $450.00. Labor will be paid only after a physical inspection of the allegedly defective returned product by Recon Automotive Remanufacturers, confirming that our product has failed due to a defect in material or workmanship. Warranty repairs or replacements that are not professionally performed, will be paid at a rate not exceed $15.00 per flat rate hour with a labor cap of $150.00.

 

Where And How The Warranty Will Be Honored?

In order for the warranty to be valid, the engine and/or part must be returned at your cost within the specified warranty period to the Remanufacturer through any outlet of the retailer from whom you purchased the engine, along with this original warranty and the sales receipt, provided that:

 

1.                                   Prior authorization must be obtained from the Remanufacturer before any warranty work may be performed, and

 

2.                                   Repair bills and proof of payment must be submitted prior to any reimbursement by the Remanufacturer.

 

Disclaimer And Exclusions To Coverage Applicable To Limited Engine Warranty

This Limited Warranty does not apply if the engine is:

1.             Installed in vehicles used for racing or contains high performance modifications.

 

2.             Modified, altered, abused, unreasonably used, improperly installed, damaged by accident, fire, negligence, misuse, overheating, detonation, or lack of lubrication; or incorrect application, or incorrect or defective units or accessory equipment attached to the engine were not authorized by the original manufacturer; or installed in an application for which it was not ordinarily intended.

 

3.             Not properly serviced, maintained or fueled in accordance with the original manufacturer’s specifications.

 

4.             This warranty shall not apply to any standard production engine, which has been adapted to use Propane

                or L.P.G. fuels.

 

This Limited Warranty Excludes:

1.             Transportation expense of a defective engine or part to or from the Remanufacturer

 

2.             Compensation for inconvenience or loss of use.

 

3.             The cost of a rental car, storage fees, lodging, reimbursement for time off work, loss of income, commercial loss, towing charges, telephone calls, legal fees and costs, oil, filters, anti-freeze fluids or other consequential damages.

 

4.             Any and all cost of labor over $450.00 required to remove the defective engine or part and to complete installation of a replacement engine or part for passenger cars, trucks.

 

5.             Repairs otherwise covered if performed without prior authorization from the Remanufacturer and without submission of a repair bill and proof of payment.

 

6.             The cost of all parts replaced under this warranty unless the parts have been supplied by the Remanufacturer or specifically authorized for local purchase. Note: All replaced parts must be submitted (prepaid) to the Remanufacturer for inspection before labor any costs will be considered.

 

LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO RETAIL PRICE OF THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE OR PARTS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE OF THE ENGINE, AND THE REMANUFACTURER SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY EXPRESS WARRANTY MADE BY THE REMANUFACTURER WITH REGARD TO SUCH ENGINE. THE DURATION OF ANY WARRANTY IMPLIED BY LAW, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE, IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY. THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER REMEDIES. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS NOR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITING OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

 

This Warranty Gives You Specific Legal Rights. and You May Also Have Other Rights Which Vary From State To State.
